Service of Worship
January 17, 2016
“Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you;
He will never let the righteous fall.”
Psalm 55:22
The Psalmist reminds us of God’s unfailing love,
His trustworthy care, and His commitment
to keep His word and fulfill His promises.
We can trust in God’s care and we can celebrate His provision as we worship today.
Welcome to Huron Shores Fellowship!
We are glad that you are here.

VERSE FOR THE WEEK
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life…But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:25 & 33
Planning for Snow
In general, whenever it’s possible, we will plan to keep our regular schedule. If weather is extremely bad, however, we will cancel services and activities. We will try to make that decision as early as possible – and we will communicate any cancellations with local radio stations and on our web pages.

Huron Shores Fellowship Church/Facebook
For Wednesday activities, we will follow the decision of our local public schools. If it’s a snow day for our schools, then we will cancel our Wednesday activities.
For other church activities on other days, we’ll leave it to the individual groups to make their own decision. Please check directly with your group leader for those decisions.
Even though we will try to maintain our regular schedule, we want you to feel comfortable about your own personal decision about traveling in bad weather. If your area happens to be dangerous, or if you are snowed in, we encourage you to use your own judgment. Please do not travel if it seems unsafe to you. Please know that we will understand your decision and – even if you have responsibilities here – we will find a way to cover for you. If you are able to come, please come. But if you determine that it’s not wise to travel, then we encourage you to stay home.

CARE AND OUTREACH PROJECT
For our current project we are collecting things for the Women’s Shelter kitchen. When the abused women leave their home, they leave everything behind. The shelter finds them jobs and helps them get set up in a place to live. We are asking for utensils, dishes, dish towels & cloths, pot holders, etc. Anything you would need in a kitchen. (This project runs thru February.)
“PRAYER CHAIN”
There are times when we have all needed immediate prayer for our family, loved ones and friends. Huron Shores Fellowship now has a PRAYER CHAIN to help in those circumstances. If you would like to request prayer, please contact Becky Sommerfield at 517-481-6720 and she will pass it on to the prayer chain.
COULD THIS BE YOU?
As of January 1st, we are in need of a new CHURCH TREASURER.
We’ll train! Call Peg Chatfield if you are interested (595-8861). ALSO, we need two new members for the Finance Team, and you would be expected to take a turn on counting the collection.
WE ALSO NEED…
Any and all nominations for our Ministry Teams starting in January 2016, please report to Leadership Team: Anna Kollien, Evelyn Avery, Becky Sommerfield, Peg Chatfield, Russ Lewis, Martha Hayes or Jeff Freel.
USHERS
We are still in need of ushers. We are looking for men and women – all ages – please see Ron Chatfield if you can help.
OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHY
We extend our Christian Sympathy to Gary McCall and family on the passing of Ruth Woytovich, Tuesday night, January 12. Ruth turned 97 on January 7th and was looking forward to meeting her Lord. There will be a memorial service in the spring time. Please remember Gary and the family in prayer during this difficult time.
PASTORAL CARE OPPORTUNITY
If you have a need for pastoral care, Pastor Jack Williams will be available at the church on Thursdays from 12pm – 4pm. Please call ahead to verify that he is available.
PLEASE USE 2016 OFFERING ENVELOPES
If you did not see a pack of envelopes with your name and would like one, sign up at the table in the foyer or call the church office, 358-0047. You need envelopes so your offering is credited to your name and also the accountant needs it for timely recording purposes
DO YOU KNOW?
The Leadership Team is working hand in hand with the Sheriff’s Dept. on security for the church.
(1) We will no longer post information about our head count or offering amounts (you can get that information from Judy in the church office or see the Treasurer).
(2) Also for security, at 11 am Sunday morning, the church doors will be locked. We will have individuals available at doors to let late attendees in. (3) Weekly, when Judy is at the church alone, the doors will be locked. Please ring doorbell and/or call her in advance to let her know you are coming or are there.
WE NEED YOUR BOTTLES AND CANS
The Buffalo, New York Mission Team is collecting empty cans/bottles in order to raise money for the trip. Bring your cans/bottles at the Sunday School entrance. If you would like us to come to your house and pick up your empties, please call Shannon Sherwin 590-2206
