MONDAY, August 1
6:45-8:00 All-Staff VBS Gathering. Come and experience the vision for our Everest VBS. A walking tour, sharing of ideas, prayer and important planning will take place. Meet in the Gathering Room. (There are a couple of openings -call Cheryl Kaye or Carol Lewis if you could help.)

TUESDAY, August 2
9:30-10:30 a.m. Summer Ladies Bible Study This is a study of Joseph, Genesis 37– 50. The facilitator is Cheryl Herman. Question? Call Cheryl, (989-595-315).

WEDNESDAY, August 3
6:00 p.m. Wednesday Family Night will be at the home of Norman and Hilda Ghiata. We will have sloppy joes. Please bring a dish to pass, your table setting, lawn chairs, bathing suits, towel, swim shoes, and a life jacket for children. Beverages will be provided. As always, there will be plenty of great food and great fellowship. Rain or Shine!
There will be a short choir practice following the evening activities

Directions:
US 23 south to Diamond’s Point Shell station and take Werth Rd to Spruce Rd. Turn left at Store.
Take Spruce to the stop sign at Nicholson Hill Rd. cross over and continue on Spruce Rd. until end of pavement. (You will have crossed into Alcona Co. and will see a gas well and a horse farm on this corner.
Take a right here and continue on Spruce Rd. Eventually you will see a large blue sign on the left shaped like Hubbard Lake. DO NOT turn here. Continue on and you will do a lot of curving around. Then you will see a sign for Churchill Point Restaurant. Take left onto Bennett Rd. About 1 mile down Bennett turn left on Oriole. Then left on Cedar Drive. Take Cedar Drive all the way to the end of the road. Ghiata’s are the very last house on the right hand side. 6320 Cedar Drive Trouble? Call 727-2394

CARE AND OUTREACH PROJECT FOR AUGUST
We are adopting Sunrise Centre Inc. It is a non-profit substance Abuse Rehabilitation Facility that serves people with addictions that are on Medicaid, under or uninsured from Alpena and surrounding counties. They are always in need of bedding and bathroom supplies, male and female hygiene products, socks and underwear for men and women. There will be a list by the tub in the Narthex next week.

V.B.S. PRAYER BUDDIES
We recognize the need for prayer for the children, families and staff who are even now finding out about our VBS. Would you be willing to ‘adopt’ one child/worker and commit to pray throughout these next weeks?
How to pray: for open hearts to learn more about God’s saving grace, for eyes to see and ears to hear God’s Word, and that Christ would be shown in all we do and say. We trust the Holy Spirit to move in the hearts of those He is bringing to Huron Shores VBS this August.
