WEDNESDAY, August 10
6:00 p.m. Final Summer Picnic hosted by Dick and Cheryl Kaye and Pat Manning to be held at Starlite Beach Pavilion on State Street. Pizza and beverages will be provided.
Please bring a dish to pass, your table setting, lawn chairs and bathing suits(?). An egg toss, slow bike race, bocce and other games will be available. Kids bring your remote control cars and a friend! Sara and Brandon are bringing their ‘bounce house’. Rain or Shine. Choir will have a short practice following. As always, there will be plenty of great food and great fellowship.

Immediately following worship, we will need helpers to move furniture and help staff make ready for VBS, beginning on Monday. A light lunch will be provided. Many hands will make short order of this work!

CARE AND OUTREACH PROJECT FOR AUGUST
We are adopting Sunrise Centre Inc. It is a non-profit substance Abuse Rehabilitation Facility that serves people with addictions that are on Medicaid, under or uninsured from Alpena and surrounding counties. They are always in need of bedding and bathroom supplies, male and female hygiene products, socks and underwear for men and women. There will be a list by the tub in the Narthex.

Please take a flyer and invite families to take part. (To mail as a letter: Fold it in half and secure in the corners with tape; or to save postage, try putting in a newspaper tube). However, a personal invitation is most effective. Feel free to take extra flyers at the back of the church. Together, we will spread the Word.

SPECIAL INVITATION – Be part of the excitement of VBS. We’re having a closing ceremony and Open House on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 6:00. We’ll be hosting lots of guests for a light supper and Everest Summit Celebration. We need you there to welcome them and to see for yourself how God is at work here at Huron Shores.
