The Second Sunday of Advent

“The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch,
a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land.
In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety.
This is the name by which he will be called:
The Lord Our Righteousness.”
Jeremiah 23:5-6

These are days to celebrate the promises of God.
Long ago, the prophets spoke of a coming day –
a day when God would send a Savior, a Comforter, a King.
With the birth of Jesus, God kept this most important promise –
and that is what we celebrate today!

Welcome to Huron Shores Fellowship!
We are glad that you are here.

Tithes and Offerings

Joy to the World (270, vs. 1)
Joy to the world! the Lord is come; let earth receive her King.
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And heav’n and nature sing, and heav’n and nature sing,
And heav’n, and heav’n and nature sing.

Theme Verse: Remington MacArthur

Christmas Program, Part One
DRESS REHEARSAL: Miss Viv and Company

O Little Town of Bethlehem (250, vs. 1)
O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by.
Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting Light;
The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.

Christmas Program, Part Two
JACOB’S GIFT: by Max Lucado

O Come, All Ye Faithful (249, vs. 1,2)
O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant;
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem!
Come and behold Him – born the King of angels!

O come, let us adore Him! O come, let us adore Him!
O come, let us adore Him – Christ, the Lord!

Sing, choirs of angels; sing in exultation;
O sing, all ye bright hosts of heav’n above!
Glory to God, all glory in the highest!

O Holy Night (285, vs. 1)
O holy night! The stars are brightly shining;
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
Fall on your knees! O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night, O holy night, O night divine!

Silent Night (253, vs. 1,2)
Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and Child.
Holy Infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night, shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar;
Heavenly hosts sing alleluia.
Christ the Savior is born! Christ the Savior is born!

What Child Is This? (281, vs. 1)
What Child is this, who, laid to rest, on Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?

This, this is Christ, the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing.
Haste, haste to bring Him laud, the Babe, the Son of Mary.

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day (267, vs. 1,2,3,4,5)
I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth goodwill to men.

I thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along th’-unbroken song
Of peace on earth goodwill to men.

And in despair I bowed my head:
“There is no peace on earth,” I said,
“For hate is strong, and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, goodwill to men.”

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
God is not dead nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail,
With peace on earth, goodwill to men!

Then ringing singing on its way,
The world revolved from night to day
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime
Of peace on earth goodwill to men!
