Huron Shores Fellowship

THURSDAY, MARCH 24, 2016
Due to the inclement weather we have canceled our MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE scheduled for tonight. Please join us for our EASTER SUNDAY SERVICE at 10:45 AM this Sunday to celebrate the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

MARCH 27, 2016

Service of Worship
Easter Sunday
March 27, 2016

In their fright the women bowed to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!” Luke 24:5-6

On Easter, we celebrate the central event of history:
the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Today, we choose to believe the Good News:
Jesus is alive! That is, indeed, Good News!

Welcome to Huron Shores Fellowship!
We are glad that you are here.

GATHERING TO WORSHIP GOD
Words of Welcome and Fellowship Greeting
(Everyone, Please sign the Worship Registration Book.)

Invitation to Worship

Prelude (Please use this time to quiet our hearts and prepare
to worship together in the name of Jesus Christ).

PRAYER REQUESTS

OPENING PRAYER

“Christ Arose” (357, all)
Low in the grave He lay- Jesus, my Savior!
Waiting the coming day- Jesus, my Lord!

Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes.
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Vainly they watch his bed- Jesus, my Savior!
Vainly they seal the dead- Jesus, my Lord!

Death cannot keep his prey- Jesus, my Savior!
He tore the bars away- Jesus, my Lord!

“Christ the Lord Is Risen Today” (367, 1,2,4)

“I Live” (366)
I live, I live because He is risen,
I live, I live with pow’r over sin,
I live, I live because He is risen;
I live, I live to worship Him.
Thank You, Jesus, thank You, Jesus,
Because You’re alive, because You’re alive,
Because You’re alive, I live!

MORNING PRAYER

MESSAGE “The Resurrection Is Our Victory”
Revelation 1:17-18

CLOSING HYMN
“He Lives” (368,all)

CLOSING PRAYER: THE APOSTLE’S CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen

CARE AND OUTREACH PROJECT
For our current project we are collecting things for the Women’s Shelter kitchen. When the abused women leave their home, they leave everything behind. The shelter finds them jobs and helps them get set up in a place to live. We are asking for utensils, dishes, dish towels & cloths, pot holders, etc. Anything you would need in a kitchen. (This project runs thru February.)

PLANNING FOR SNOW
In general, whenever it’s possible, we will plan to keep our regular schedule. If weather is extremely bad, however, we will cancel services and activities. We will try to make that decision as early as possible – and we will communicate any cancellations with local radio stations (WATZ & WHSB) TV station, WBKB our web page(www.huronshoresfellowship.org and on the church Facebook Page ( Huron Shores Fellowship church/Facebook )

Even though we will try to maintain our regular schedule, we want you to feel comfortable about your own personal decision about traveling in bad weather. If your area happens to be dangerous, or if you are snowed in, we encourage you to use your own judgment. Please do not travel if it seems unsafe to you. Please know that we will understand your decision and – even if you have responsibilities here – we will find a way to cover for you. If you are able to come, please come.
