3. There are 20 slots available – filled on a first come, first serve basis

Winter Weather Policy

crystalsnowflakeHuron Shores Fellowship reserves the right to cancel services if weather conditions become dangerous. When this occurs, the decision will be made as early as possible. Local radio stations will be notified. We will also post the cancellation on this web page. Those subscribed to this webpage (by entering their e-mail address in the box in the upper right corner under the header) will receive an e-mail notice.

For Wednesday night activities, we will follow the decision of Alpena Public Schools. If it’s a snow day, then we will cancel our Wednesday schedule.

For other church activities and meetings, leaders of those activities or meetings will make their own decisions. Please check directly with the leaders if you are unsure.

We want our members and friends to feel comfortable about their personal decisions regarding travel in bad weather. We encourage you to use your best judgment. Our fellowship covers a large geographical area and some will be more adversely affected than others. If you determine that it isn’t wise for you to drive, then we encourage you to stay home. Above all – be safe.

A Reminder about Our Snow Policy
With winter approaching, here’s a reminder about our snow
policy. In general, whenever it’s possible, we will plan to keep
our regular schedule. If weather is extremely bad, however, we
will cancel services. We’ll try to make that decision as early as
possible, and we will communicate with local radio stations. We
will also do our best to post cancellation notices on our website. www.huronshoresfellowship.org If you cannot find the information,
please call the church office. Please make sure you are subscribed
to our new blog on our web site so you can receive special notices.
For Wednesday activities, we will follow the decision of the local
public schools. If it’s a snow day, then we will cancel our Wednesday schedule.

For other church activities on other days, we’ll leave it to the individual groups to make their own decision. Please check directly with your
group leader for those decisions.

Even though we will try to maintain our regular schedule, we want
you to feel comfortable about your own personal decision about
traveling in bad weather. If your area happens to be dangerous, or if
you are snowed in, we encourage you to use your own judgment.
Please do not travel if it seems unsafe to you. Be assured that we will understand your decision and – even if you have responsibilities
here – we will find a way to cover for you. If you are able to come,
please come. But if you determine that it’s not wise to drive, then
we encourage you to stay home.

Words of Gratitude

homemade card – with appreciation and thank you:
To the Sunday Supper Crew…especially on Nov. 2, 2014 –
Special Thanks to the cooks and servers and Ellen Egan
and the Trinity Episcopal Church parish:
YOU BRING HOPE!. – from “Donald”

Dear Church Family,
Words cannot express how grateful we are for your prayers,
words of encouragement, and other offers of support! We
greatly appreciate your concern and willingness to help in
any way possible. Also, thank you for the beautiful flowers,
the smell of the lilies filled the room for several days.
At this time Sharyl is in physical therapy in Alpena and is
getting stronger day by day. Part of the recovery process is
her dealing with high levels of anxiety and as a result she
cannot have visitors at this time. Your respect for this wish
is greatly appreciated. We still have a ways to go so please
continue praying and praising.

Why Can’t I See the Current Bulletins?

confused-smileyI’ve had a few people ask about the old bulletins here on the new webpage – and not the current bulletins.

While building this new web page, I uploaded several old bulletins to show the Servants Team how this new page would function and look. Judy kept uploading the new bulletins to the old page – which is what people could access.

Until last Friday. Last Friday – November 7 – this new page went live and the old page disappeared.

Starting this week, Judy will be uploading new bulletins right here. And if you have subscribed to this new web page by putting your e-mail address in the box to the right under the photo of our church, you will get a notice sent to your e-mail address when that bulletin is ready to be viewed here.

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of
men.” At once they left their nets and followed Him.
Mark 1:17-18

Even today, Jesus continues to call people to follow Him.
In worship, we hear that call – and then we decide
how exactly we will answer.
Through God’s grace, we are able to accept His invitation.
As we worship, let’s choose to do that today.

New and Improved!

A sign reading new and improved on yellow backgroundWelcome to the new Huron Shores Fellowship webpage! This page has been in the making for a couple of months. We’ve made the change for many reasons, but let’s hit the highlights of what this webpage will do for us.

1) You can now subscribe via e-mail to the webpage. Subscribe by putting your e-mail address in that box to the right under the header. Every time new content is added, an e-mail will be sent directly to your e-mail address. This is especially important for parents of our youth. Pastor Josh will be posting details of youth activities, as well as any last-minute changes due to weather or other issues.

2) The calendar page links to our new Google Calendar feature. Judy will be able to update the calendar on a daily basis as changes occur. Please note that changes to the calendar will not be e-mailed to subscribers – only posts will be e-mailed. So check the calendar often to see the latest.

3) This page allows us to use archives. No longer will bulletins or other announcements disappear after two weeks on-line.  You’ll be able to access them by topic looking under category or by month under archives. History at our fingertips.

Our goal is to have a working, up-to-date, user-friendly webpage for Huron Shores. We welcome feedback. You can contact Pastor Josh or Pegg Thomas with suggestions to make this even better.

Service of Worship
The Lord’s Day

September 28, 2014

Worship Leader: Marlon Smith
Pianist: Cheryl Kaye

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,

He saved us,
not because of righteous things we had done,
but because of His mercy.
                                                                          Titus 3:4-5a

If we ever get confused about why we have been included
in God’s great work of grace,
Scripture makes it completely clear.
God has included us not because we are righteous,
but because He is merciful.

Today, we praise God for His grace, His kindness,
His mercy- and for his amazing choice to include us in
His great work of grace.

Praise God!

2014 Winter Coat Ministry

The countdown continues. Just 2 short weeks until October 9th

and our 3rd warm outerwear clothing giveaway held right here at

Huron Shores. We need your help to spread the word.   If you can,

please take an orange flyer to post in an area business place.   Letting
the public know what our ministry is all about just might be the most
important aspect of putting this event together. We’ve been successful
once again in collecting a large number of items that will be available
to anyone who comes here looking for warm clothing. We don’t want
those items left hanging at the end of the day because the community

did not know about us and didn’t come.   Thank you.
