month is Benevolence Sunday at Huron Shores Fellowship. Maintaining
a Benevolence Fund is one way to help those who come to the church for
aid during difficult times. The call to provide for the needy is found throughout
the Bible. In Matthew 25:34–40, Jesus emphasizes the need
for benevolence in God’s name. John asks, “If anyone has material possessions
and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can
the love of God be in him?” (1 John 3:17–18).
“God loves a cheerful giver”  (2 Corinthians 9:7).
Monetary gifts dedicated to the Benevolent Fund can be made in the
form of loose bills/change or a loose check/envelope with the specific designation
of “Benevolent Fund”.

Looking Ahead

Our Fall Wednesday Night programming starts September 10. We will
have the Wednesday Night Supper followed by Children and Youth
programs for all ages, as well as an adult study. The study of the gospel
of Mark will be led by Mary Beth Englund. Choir practice will also be
part of the Wednesday line–up. Plan now to bring your family and join us.

Tuesday Afternoon Bible Studies

Our Tuesday afternoon Bible studies will continue this week. Please join
us at 4:30 for Bible study, prayer and fellowship. There is a group for men

Coat Ministry Needs You!

Are you still thinking of cleaning out your closets to get rid of unwanted items of clothing? If you are, please consider donating them.
Our winter outerwear giveaway will be on October 9 this year. Unbelievably, that’s only 6+ weeks away.
We will accept clean coats, hoodies, warm sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, boots and snow pants.   If you can help by donating any of these items, please bring them to church anytime and leave them in the area next

to Pastor’s office.

Regular updates and news about this important ministry will appear in the bulletin in the weeks to come.
